Bedbugs in Venice

I can give you a good laundromat rec though 🧺 After an 11 day cruise my brother and I spent an additional week in Italy and decided to explore Venice and Rome. We gave ourselves 3 days to see Venice including half days for travel. Halfway through the first night he woke me up covered in bites saying we had bed bugs. I lifted the pillow my head was just on and at least five giant bed bugs went scrambling. We spent our only fully day washing everything we had twice. I’m literally in my pajamas walking next to people wearing designer clothes y’all 😅 I’m NOT saying that the entirety of Venice has beg bugs or that you shouldn’t visit, but rather that traveling isn’t always glamorous. It’s not always easy, breezy, flawless. And please ALWAYS check for bugs. This was the first time I hadn’t and it truly bit us in the butt (pun intended). Have you been lucky enough to avoid this travel experience?
