I cried, would you? Every year when I was in elementary school a couple would come and give a presentation of images from their previous six months of biking around the world. One image that stood out was a shot of their tents rather close to some flowing lava at an active volcano. After asking if it was safe I thought “One day I’m gonna see an active volcano and camp near it. I don’t know how or where but I’m going too.” The first time I saw an active volcano I sobbed because I’d done it, I saw flowing lava covering parts of earth never to be seen by our eyes again. And then I spent the night next to this volcano in Guatemala which shoots lava straight into the air every 15-20 minutes and I cried again because I slept in a tent listening to the eruptions. Both experiences were full circle moments and proof that no matter what age or how big your dreams are, they are worth fighting to make your reality. Little Nikki would be so proud of us and little you, younger you, or yesterday you deserves to feel proud of present you too! #acatenango #visitguatemala #travelphotographers #adventurephotographers #liveontheedge #travelinspirations #solotraveller #femalesolotraveller
