The Walk-On Mentality: Overcoming Life's Obstacles
Walk on mentality. -
Football just started last week and it’s by far my favorite sport. My dad is a football coach and I’ve been around it my whole life. There are tons of things I’ve learned from it and, but one of the main things I think is the walk on mentality. -
A lot of you probably relate. I wasn’t the best athlete, definitely wasn’t the biggest or strongest or naturally talented. I was average. My freshman year I was lucky to get in the game for a few plays. My sophomore year I had to sit out because I transferred, but I still practiced and showed up to every game. -
Ultimately I ended up starting and getting a few offers from smaller D3 schools which I ultimately turned down to pursue my film goals. But here’s the point, you have 2 options when opportunities and life pass you by. -
1. Be salty and quit. -
2. Be salty and get better. -
So many people miss out on their true talent because they quit before it could be realized. Sometimes the best talents aren’t natural. They have to be worked on and refined. If the world has passed you by, prove them wrong. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 -
