The Reality Behind Social Media
Following fake lives has made us desperate to edit our own. -
And it’s only getting harder. Just in the last 5-10 years the amount of photos we’ve seen ourselves in has increased dramatically. And on top of that, we are constantly bombarded with others photos portraying a seemingly perfect body, relationship, career, life. -
The problem is these “models” of success are almost all a facade. I’ll throw myself out as an example. If you just scroll through my IG page you’d probably think I’m living in a dream world. I can’t tell you how many people message me saying they want to be able to do what I do. And I’ll be honest. I’m extremely blessed to be able to live in the most beautiful place on the planet, with awesome friends, and a pretty sweet job. But what you don’t see is that most of my time is not spent doing the most epic things. In fact most of my time is spent behind a screen building out different ideas I have or managing various businesses. -
I personally enjoy it and am in no way complaining, but the reason I bring it up is because if you tried to model your life after me just based off my IG page you would be likely to go broke real quick unless you had another source of income coming in. -
Everyone has a different purpose and a different journey. Don’t try to edit yours to match someone else’s seemingly perfect journey. Chances are, they aren’t even near perfect either. The beat option is to know your purpose and spend each day taking steps towards fulfilling it. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 - •
