Stop Trying, Start Trusting
Yesterday I talked about trying, but what happens when you’ve been trying consistently but still not getting results? -
Does it mean your lazy? Does it mean you don’t have what it takes? Does it mean you don’t have the will to change?- A lot of times you read these motivational things on Instagram and it’s all about trying harder and if you aren’t getting the results it’s your fault. Do you even want to get fit? Do you even lift bro? Are you even serious? -
Well if trying harder was the answer we’d see the results by now. Have you been trying but failing for so long that you’ve started to accept that maybe that is your destiny. Maybe you’ve been hanging around some people that reinforce that negative mindset so it’s harder and harder for you to get the motivation to try again. -
I watched the movie joker the other day and I think it does a great job of portraying the story of a man who’s trying so hard to do the right thing but no one notices. He desperately wants to be a happy person but every time he gets a little win he’s immediately knocked down. It’s a slow destruction of your expectations because when your results consistently don’t match your expectations it’s disheartening. -
But what if it’s not you? What if it’s the system? What if it’s a bad story you’re telling yourself? What if it’s actually you’re trying that is holding you back? -
Sometimes your trying gets in the way of your trusting. I know it does for me. A lot of times I try to be a better person, be a better friend, pray more, read more, but that puts the burden on me when it doesn’t have to be. -
Jesus says trust Me. Put your faith in Me and you will find everlasting life. Stop trying to fix things on your own cause it doesn’t work and you get burnt out, but the moment you trust Him and say you know what, I’ve been trying and failing and trying and failing and I don’t want to but I’m gonna trust You and go one more time, that’s when the system is disrupted and breakthrough happens.
God likes to show up at the most inopportune moments with the least likely people to transform in unbelievable ways. The question is, will you stop trying and trust him?
Be blessed and stay stoked😎🤙
