Make Your Own Memories

The dream can be had by anyone. The memory must be created. - I’ve come to find that there’s a lot of emphasis put on the dream. America is home of the “American dream,” Disney is “where dreams come true.” I don’t know if it’s western idealism or just ignorance, but how come there is an unequal balance in the emphasis on making the dream happen. - We are taught as children to shoot for the stars and that we can do anything we dream of doing, yet as we grow up, we tend to find that we are less than equipped to actually make our dreams a reality so we settle for the mediocre. - We are sold the dream by being given the promise of the memories we’ll make once the dream has been realized. But what about the memories of the process to get there? Personally I find those more inspiring than the dream itself. - So have a dream yes, but understand in order to make the memories you so desperately want to make, you have to create them yourself. No one will hand you anything and don’t expect school to equip you for the task. Take your education into your own hands and create the memories while everyone else dreams. - Be blessed and stay stoked. 😎🤙
