How to Respond When Clients Ask for Rates

The script (save for later) šŸ›‘ But first comment ā€œSCRIPTā€ if you want the full sales framework. Often times clients say ā€œsend your ratesā€ so they have an excuse to say ā€œwe donā€™t have the budgetā€ But hereā€™s the crazy thing. They are asking you to send rates for a project that you donā€™t even fully understand yet! Itā€™s like going to a mechanic and asking for a quote to fix your engine and then they give you a rate without first assessing the damage. Itā€™s irresponsible and unethical. So hereā€™s how I usually respond. 1ļøāƒ£ Mirror the question Stoked to hear your interested is seeing how to implement what I talked about 2ļøāƒ£ Associate with the outcome they most likely want Since every project is different I donā€™t offer one size fits all packages or pricing. I offer packages that are custom to your specific goals. I can say that I have worked on projects ranging from 3,000 on the low side to $30,000 on the high side. 3ļøāƒ£ Prompt a response If I could share a couple of quick strategies that are budget-friendly, would you be open to a brief chat? It might spark something useful for your team! šŸ›‘ But what if they say they donā€™t have the budget?? Sometimes these people arenā€™t worth pursuing, but if you want to stay in the game, use the same process. Show you understand their concern. Associate it with the outcome they want, then soften the ask by saying something like: ā€œWould it be ok to hop on a quick 20 min chat? Worst case, youā€™ve got some new ideas in your back pocket :)ā€ If you want to see my full sales process, comment ā€œSCRIPTā€ and Iā€™ll send it over! Be blessed and stay stoked šŸ˜ŽšŸ¤™
