Farewell to Hawaii After 7 Years

I’m tearing up writing this 😥 For the last 7+ years I’ve called Hawaii home. 3 days ago I moved. People told me it would only be a matter of time till I came back. But I don’t think they thought it would be 7 years. Hawaii is a HARD place to leave, not just because it’s paradise, but because the people make it home. And although it’s definitely bittersweet and I know it’s the right decision, I can’t help but look back and see just how different my life is now than it was 7 years ago . And more importantly, how God has orchestrated every step. I moved to Hawaii on 3 days notice with 2 days of guaranteed work. I was homeless but God blessed me with a church that let me stay on the floor and friends that moved out too. He then blessed me with an apartment that we jammed 7 people into to keep the rent cheap 😂 He blessed me with the ability to do the job of my dreams, to meet the girl I definitely don’t deserve, and to live a life I never even dreamed possible 7 years ago. I moved to Hawaii a boy, and I left a man. And I thank God he let me say yes to the call that brought me out there. So this thanksgiving. What are you grateful for? Unfortunately I don’t have enough room to thank every person who’s been so influential. Every opportunity I’ve been given. Every lesson I’ve been taught. But what I can leave you with is this. If God wants you to do it, it’ll be scary and probably won’t make sense. But it will likely be the best decision you’ve ever made. A Hui Hou Hawaii 🌺 Off to new adventures! Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙
