Faith Amid Challenges
Why the test? -
We live in a culture that aims to avoid pain and discomfort at any cost. In fact if someone feels a little pain, our first instinct is to feel bad for them. What if our 1st world western viewpoint of pain is totally out of line with what testing was originally intended for. -
Testing is and always has been one of the biggest signifiers of faith. The purpose of it is to sharpen you for bigger and better things ahead. That doesn't downplay the fact that it sucks in the moment, but it does give you perspective for the future. -
We've all been affected in some way or another by whats going on at the moment and for some it's a lot worse than others. I was blessed to only have lost jobs, income, and opportunities (all of which are replaceable) while others had much more long term impacts. -
The point is God doesn't test you beyond what he knows you can handle. That doesn't mean that the test is meant to be easy, it's not supposed to be. If you take a look at any of the most significant Bible stories, you will find that the test always seems to be insurmountable. But that's where faith comes in. The point is, when it's too big for you it can only be God. If you can handle it yourself, why would you need God? -
God's not in the business of fairweather fans. You either have faith and trust Him solely or you try it on your own. That's it. I've found that trusting him instead of my own abilities always turns out better not necessarily it circumstance, although it definitely does happen, but in character and perspective. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 -
