Embracing Gratitude in Challenging Times
Gratitude is not an attitude. -
It’s not a feeling, it’s not an emotion, it’s a choice. -
I know 2020 is a year that’s rocked so many of us in so many different ways but what I’m grateful for is that we have a day set aside in the midst of this crazy year to get back to the core and be grateful. We have a day set aside dedicated to focusing on the positive, and thanking God for His goodness. -
Now more than ever there’s a push against this day. We are told gathering with friends and family and giving thanks to God is selfish and dangerous, all while promoting the most greed filled day of the year. What? God commanded us to give thanks so that’s what I will do. -
So that being said here’s my short unpopular thankful list for 2020. -
In 2020 I’m thankful I lost my job, because it allowed me to grow closer in my relationship. I’m grateful church closed because it taught me the importance of God-centered community. I’m glad stores closed because it taught me that I can live with less. I’m grateful things shut down because there is a greater push for freedom than ever before. I’m thankful my plans were spoiled because it showed me God is in control, not me. I’m thankful for an isolation order because it showed me who my real friends were. And I’m grateful for the virus because it continues to draw so many to the true source of Joy, Jesus Christ. -
In a world where hopelessness is becoming a default, where fear is encouraged, and where worry is at the top of our minds, be thankful. It’s a choice. -
Be blessed and stay stoked 😎🤙 -
