Embrace Discomfort for Growth

The biggest distraction is comfort. - I know this is kinda backwards given that this is almost single handedly the biggest goal of humanity in the 21st century, but hear me out. As people we seek comfort. It’s why we have jobs, it’s why we stress to make money, it’s why we eat the wrong food or marry the wrong person. We’d rather be “comfortable” than challenged. But here’s the problem. - With all our conveniences, we are distracted from our purpose. Now I’m not saying convenience is bad, far from, but I’m saying that often times a consistent settling for the easy road can block us from our destiny. - I want to be comfortable just as much as anyone else, but I’ve made it a point in my life to stretch out of my comfort zone at least 1-2 times/week. Whether that’s meeting up with a new person, going to a new place, having an uncomfortable conversation, or anything else. I think constantly being uncomfortable allows me to become more comfortable in the unknown which is ultimately what we should strive for. Comfort is a distraction from my destiny. - We weren’t designed to be comfortable and die. We were designed to be put to the test, to learn, and to grow, and to accomplish great things, but it all starts at the end of our comfort zone.
