Finding Solace in the Desert
I go to the forest when I need to be held, and the desert when I need to face myself, get real, and do some work.
You can’t help but feel small in the desert and be in awe of its expansive vastness. An immensity only paralleled by that of the ocean or perhaps space.
You’re feeble against it, awe is imminent there and draws out your wild - the most vulnerable and courageous state we can exist in. Completely free of comfort in a landscape where everything is harsh, resilient, sharp and dry.
There’s much space to walk, to be still, to listen, and much room to feed your soul and bury the ugliest bits of your ego.
