Essential Day Bag Gear for Outdoor Adventures

📣 ⚙️ Gear talk Tuesday ⚙️ 📣 As much as I’d like to think any of us could go out into the wild for adventures and fun with nothing but a can-do attitude and and the clothes on our back and be ok…. That is just not reality. It’ll work, until it doesn’t and you have to call SAR. Here are essential I keep in my day-bag at all times to be prepared, ready for the unexpected and keep the adventures going longer. This is especially important if you venture on solo activities as I often do. (📌 save this for reference) Day Bag Gear List 🎒 : 1. Stoke Pivot Knife & Saw by @surviveoutdoorslonger (pictured). - its lightweight, versatile, has fire tinder cord on the end and is 2 in 1. purchasable at rei.com. Their camp hatchet also comes with me backpacking and stays in the car on all road trips. 2. Emergency bivy sac, emergency blanket, and rescue whistle by SOL (these double as shelter) - I’ve had to use them before ⚠️ 3. Emergency kit with enough supplies for 2 days and 2 people, gear repair tools, duct tape, gear patches, and 🔥 starter - matches and tinder. 4. 🧭 Navigation - download the map of your trail and the offline map of your area. Bring a compass. 5. 🔦 Headlamp + extra batteries. 6. Sunblock (I really like the powder kind) 7. Snacks/ Food 8. 2 Liters of 💧 (min 3 in the desert) + filter 9. Rain Jacket and rain pants (in the PNW) 10. Chapstick with SPF and sunglasses 11. Extra clothes: Gloves, an extra pair of socks, extra warmth layer 12. Preferred pack - Matador Beast 18L 13. Depending on the season/ location - bug spray or bear spray (or both lol) 14. 30 ft of braided webbing - Because I keep finding myself in narrow slot canyons and on crazy down climbs where I need to lower my gear (this is extra) 15. Something to charge your phone/ cameras etc. 16. If I’m solo, also pepper spray! Happy trails ahead! Stay safe and leave no trace 🥾 🌲 🌵 📸 @sea2summitexplorer
