Cold Glacial Plunge with Pesky Bugs
I sat in this glacial tarn for 5 minutes up to my neck for a cold plunge and it was the most challenging I’ve experienced yet.
Not due to temperature, but because above the surface mosquitos were trying to eat my face and ears and below the surface, 2 types of unknown (to me) bugs kept landing on me. While I can usually remain still, breathing for 15 minutes cold plunging in 38 degrees, the incessant biting made it difficult to focus on breath and ultimately not worth the bites all over my face.
New goal, to be able to meditate while 🥶 plunging despite obstacles like these to achieve true mind over matter regardless of the external stimuli
Thankful to the mosquitos for this new sense of self awareness and not so thankful for the 40 something sustained bites this weekend.
