Best Practices for Responsible Outdoor Bathroom Etiquette

Let’s talk #2 & Game of Thrones outdoors & in the backcountry 🚽 💩 😂 If you’re doing the outdoors as pictured in photo #2 (biggest trail pet peeve), you’re trashing the experience for the 🌏 #harshtruth. The outdoors is for everyone, & everyone has business to do when nature calls - let’s do it right to keep these spaces wild & beautiful for animals, plants, humans, & all species to enjoy for eternity. Here are best practices & recommended products to use to up your GAME OF THRONES when NATURE CALLS outdoors & help keep these spaces protected & beautiful 1. find out which method is preferred for the area you’re visiting. EX: high altitude, have to pack it out, while other areas require digging with a trowel & burying 💩. There are often “Privy’s” 🚽 on trails, use those to do your business without cleanup. Many have views as pictured here. look these up on AllTrails or wherever you’re getting your trail beta. 2. If you must carry 🧻 , pack a sealable plastic bag to PACK IT OUT. NEVER do what you see pictured in #2 - Get a @kulacloth. A reusable anti-microbial pee rag you can wash with laundry. Look up #leavenotrace best practices & become savvy 3. what’s in my “GO-BAG” - a trowel (for digging holes when appropriate), 1-2 wag bags for packing it out, a @kulacloth , spare sealable plastic bags for an extra layer & trash in general, hand sanitizer, @portawipes - water activated 🧻 tablets - lightweight, small & feels like a wet wipe (pro-tip: when camping & boiling water for dinner, I pour spare hot water on 1 & it feels like a day at the spa for your hands, face, & body while your food is being prepared - just like at the Japanese restaurants or ✈️ first class - a bit of luxury while roughing it 😉) 4. Carry your supplies 200 feet (70 steps) from a trail, ⛺️ , or 💧 source. notice your surroundings to make sure you can find your way back to your camp or trail. If there’s no privacy, you can use a towel or sarong or have friends keep a lookout for you. 5. For digging your cat hole, use a trowel, dig about 4 inches wide, 6 inches deep, pack out the TP, cover it up completely with dirt 6. use hand sanitizer
