Sensory Spelling Activity for Kids

This active learning activity can give your child the practice they need to learn how to write their name or practice spelling words. We love this activity because kids who aren’t ready to write with a pencil can still learn to recognize and trace their name (preschooler) and older kids can practice spelling words without a worksheet or flashcards for an engaging way to learn! Supplies: Giant ziplock bag Half a bottle of hair gel Food coloring Paper with name or words Directions: Fill a giant ziplock bag with about half a bottle of hair gel and some food coloring. To use, write their name on a page. Lay the gel bag over the paper. Your kids trace the letters with their finger or the eraser end of a pencil to make their name or write spelling words.
