A classic red wooden house with white trimmings and a pitched roof, surrounded by lush greenery and a vibrant red bicycle resting against its facade. The house features a white double-hung window with decorative shutters and a green garden in the foreground, evoking a charming and quintessential Swedish countryside setting.

Taking you up to northern #Sweden this week with a blog post on #Lulea. •••••• Just a couple of hours away from the Arctic Circle, Lulea is the biggest town of the north, where residents don't flinch away from biking over ice in the winter and the landscape is full of dark red houses, greens and blues of forests and sea in the summer. •••••• This is one of the red houses in the #UNESCO World Heritage site of the church town of Gammelstad, where farmers would come stay over the weekend to be able to attend church, if it was too far away for a one day trip. •••••• Some people still hold houses here that they occasionally come visit, though to retain the function of the town, they can only stay for 1-2 days per week.
