The image depicts an abandoned outdoor structure in a desert setting, featuring rows of metal beams supporting a rusted corrugated metal roof. The ground beneath the structure is a barren, sandy expanse with patches of gravel. The structure appears to have once been a covered walkway or shelter, possibly part of a larger facility or complex. The setting is desolate and arid, with a clear blue sky overhead. The scene conveys a sense of neglect and decay, reminiscent of a ghost town or abandoned site.

2 days left on my Abandoned Southern California project. So yesterday I visited one of the most intriguing and depressing abandoned places in the area: Salton Sea. •• What started as a resort area and beach home towns quickly turned into an ecological disaster for residents as waste accumulated in the sea and killed all the wildlife in the water. Fish bones litter the shore and a stench permeates the area to this day. •• Despite this, communities like Bombay Beach are still only around 50% abandoned. Many people have remained stuck, while others refuse to leave the homes they spent time building, even as the community shrinks and buildings in the area collapse around them. •• It’s a fascinating glimpse into how quickly environmental damage can destroy a community. . . . . .
