A picturesque narrow alleyway in a historic neighborhood of Marseille, France. The buildings lining the cobblestone street are tall and aged, with their pastel-colored facades exuding an old-world charm. Wrought-iron balconies adorned with potted plants and colorful shutters add character to the buildings. The street is bustling with pedestrians, some walking up the steps in the foreground, while others can be seen further down the alley. The image captures the essence of a lively and well-preserved old town area, inviting exploration and immersion in the rich cultural heritage of Marseille.

Wandering around the old town (Le Panier) of #Marseille. Marseille is actually the oldest French city, so the historic area was founded over 2,600 years ago. By Greeks, by the way, because yes we are everywhere 😎 •• Unlike other old town areas, the Panier doesn’t seem to have changed for tourists at all. It still feels very lived in, with shops geared towards locals rather than foreigners for the most part. •• There are plenty of wonderful places to stop and eat, grab a coffee, or simply buy one of the products the city is known for: soap. Exploring this charming neighborhood is one of the best ways to spend a day in Marseille. . . . . .
