The image depicts an extravagantly decorated house adorned with an array of festive Christmas lights and ornaments. The house is a brick structure with a gabled roof, and its facade is covered in intricate displays of colorful lights and decorations. The windows are illuminated, casting a warm glow onto the front yard, which is also embellished with various light-up figures and sculptures. The decorations seem to follow a gingerbread house theme, with candy cane-shaped lights lining the roof and a large wreath adorning the front entrance. The overall effect is a dazzling and cheerful celebration of the Christmas spirit.

Missing that Christmas cheer already? If you’re in the NY area, check out Dyker Heights in Brooklyn. •• Between 11th and 13th avenues, from 83rd to 86th streets, it’s an annual tradition for the houses to go all out with #Christmas decorations. This gingerbread themed house is one of many (and perhaps one of the more subtle) examples. Visit before 9 PM any night by January 1st, though some houses will leave their decorations up a bit longer than that. •• The Spata and Polizzotto houses were two of the first to start this homeowner decor competition in the area in the 80s. When you visit, try to go by subway (though it is quite a walk from the station) or tour bus, as parking is very difficult. Bring some small bills with you as well, as many families here also have boxes for charity donations outside their homes. . . . .
