The image captures a vibrant and colorful scene in the historic city of Cartagena, Colombia. The focal point is a set of large wooden doors, painted in a deep, rich purple hue and adorned with intricate metal studs arranged in a decorative pattern. Above the doors, a balcony is overflowing with lush, vibrant bougainvillea vines, their cascading branches bursting with vibrant shades of fuchsia, magenta, and crimson blooms. The balcony's railings are painted in a dusty pink shade, adding warmth and depth to the scene. On either side of the doors, two ornate black wrought-iron lamps hang from the walls, providing a touch of elegant lighting. The surrounding walls are painted in a warm, terracotta hue, contrasting beautifully with the vivid colors of the flowers and the deep purple of the doors. A young woman stands before the doors, dressed in a striped skirt and top, her casual attire blending seamlessly with the colorful surroundings.

Walking through #Cartagena, you get the feeling a coral reef exploded on the walls and doors. I’m a fan. It’s also a great reflection of the city’s culture, which is very much influenced by the Caribbean (being on the coast and all). I have to keep reminding myself I’m in Colombia and not on an island. . . . .
