A bustling outdoor dining area with a lively and festive atmosphere. Long wooden tables and benches are set up in a charming alleyway, surrounded by hanging strings of lights that create a warm and inviting ambiance. A crowd of people, some seated and others standing, fill the space, engaged in lively conversation and savoring their meals. The brick walls of the buildings lining the alleyway are adorned with greenery, adding a touch of nature to the scene. The overall vibe is one of conviviality, relaxation, and a celebration of good food and company.

People ask me what I miss about Greece. The truth is, many things. But I think one of the things I miss the most is sitting down for a dinner out in Greece. •• There’s something more lively, more raucous, more relaxed, more informal about a Greek meal out with friends or family, that I love. •• I still have one incredible memory from years ago when I was eating with friends at a local taverna, and the group of friends expanded from 8 to around 16 during the night. What started out as a quick dinner before heading out to the bars on a Saturday night, became the whole evening. Someone brought a guitar, we became progressively tipsier and happier, there was definitely some singing involved, and since the owner of the place was a friend, he shut down the restaurant officially and then joined us at the table till 6 AM. We saw the sunrise over the sea and then went home. •• What have you experienced abroad that you find yourself missing? . . . .
