A breathtaking panoramic view of the city of Bend, Oregon, surrounded by majestic mountains and a vast expanse of autumn-hued forests. The image captures the town from an elevated vantage point, likely from the top of Pilot Butte as mentioned in the post text. The cityscape stretches out in the foreground, with residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and roads winding through the urban landscape. The warm hues of fall foliage blanket the surrounding forests, creating a stunning contrast against the snow-capped peaks of the distant mountains. The sky above is a dynamic interplay of clouds, with patches of sunlight breaking through, casting a warm glow over the scene.

As I see fall nearing its end in New York, I remember this beautiful autumn scene in Bend, Oregon. •• If you’re in Bend, drive or hike to the top of Pilot Butte to get a panoramic view of the whole town, as well as the forests and mountains beyond. •• Though Bend has a population of 95,000, you really never feel it while you’re in town. There’s much more of a small-town vibe, and the nature that surrounds everything reminds you you’re never far from the rugged outdoors. Worth a visit for sure. . . . . .
