A mist hangs over Santiago. The city is sometimes smoggy, but this is different - a few days before this photo was taken, smoke from the Australian wildfires arrived in central Chile after making its way across the Pacific Ocean. •• This resulted in a hazy mist over the city, higher than the usual smog, that is expected to move over Argentina shortly. The smoke from the fires traveled over 11,000 km, or around 6,800 miles from Australia. •• Just another reminder that what happens in this world, even in seemingly faraway places, affects us more than we realize - which is why we need to band together to counter the biggest problems the future may hold for us. . . . . . #chile #santiago #chile🇨🇱
