A rugged and scenic landscape with a rushing stream carving its way through the center, flanked by jagged rocks and boulders. The stream runs through a rocky and earthy gorge, with the banks formed by layers of reddish-brown and beige sediment. The rushing water is white and frothy, cascading over the rocks and stones in its path. The scene is surrounded by a dense evergreen forest of tall fir trees, their green needles contrasting with the rocky terrain. A misty fog hangs low in the air, obscuring the distant peaks and adding an atmospheric quality to the view.

as we were traveling home from our semi-disappointing hike last Saturday, we passed through Detroit Oregon going east. for those of you who don't know the area, as you pass out of the town you cross over a bridge that used to span a section of Detroit lake. as we were crossing the bridge I saw a few things; trees, rushing water, a beautifully rugged landscape and fog. now ask yourself, who wouldn't pull over for that? so, startling my traveling companion a bit I quickly turned off at the end bridge and pulled into a small parking lot adjacent to the side road. it was still raining, and my outer layers were soaked, so being my usual self I dashed back across the bridge in my shorts and a tee ignoring the cold & wind. fortunately the huge semi-truck that drove by was kind enough to move over and not splash me haha! I snapped a few shots with my phone, then ran back and got back into the warm & welcoming car. it's crazy moments like these that make even some of the most disappointing adventures well worth it! iPhone-captured for
