A towering, majestic sandstone rock formation rises majestically against a blue sky with wispy clouds and a crescent moon visible. The formation, known as Temple of the Sun, is located in Cathedral Valley within the rugged and arid landscape of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah, USA. The foreground is a vast expanse of red desert sand and scrubby vegetation, with the striking rock monolith dominating the scene. The image conveys a sense of natural grandeur, timelessness, and the raw beauty of the American Southwest.

Shifting away from the PNW photos for a moment to this chilly morning in Utah. It was completely surreal; however, it was also miserably cold and the wind cut straight through my clothes. It was a formative moment for me though, as I realized that I was still thrilled to be there despite being miserable, and the positive experience that came from the situation outweighed the discomfort. I’ve found this to be true throughout my life. The most formative moments have also been the most uncomfortable. This year has taken that feeling of discomfort to a whole new level, but it’s also given us an opportunity to truly grow and change, and we have already seen some small progress from our efforts... let’s continue to embrace the discomfort of 2020 and grow with it. Together we will come out stronger than ever, on a progressively more equal footing🖤✌🏻
