Walking the Williamsburg Bridge

Wandering from #Bushwick toward #Williamsburg to walk the Williamsburg Bridge. Opened in 1903 as the world’s longest suspension bridge at 7,308 feet/2,228 meters and the first with all-steel towers, it connects Williamsburg (Brooklyn) with the Lower East Side (Manhattan), and led to immigrants leaving Manhattan and, for awhile, making Williamsburg the most overpopulated place in the country. While the Brooklyn Bridge is older, the Williamsburg Bridge is a lot less touristy if you’re looking for a nice walk with views.
