Tropical Lunch in Old San Juan
When your drink is from a coconut you KNOW it's going to be good.

During my solo Puerto Rico trip I found myself wandering Old San Juan, starving but worried about making the wrong choice for lunch. I mean, the cobbled streets feature everything from hipster beer bars (like Tupelo de Lupelo, yum!) to outdoor patios serving 2-for-1 sangrias to eateries cooking meals from around the globe.

For a local lunch, Deaverdura did not dissapoint. There's no paper menu, and the bar is lined with coconuts for drinking. Here I had the freshest grouper I've ever tasted, with rice, beans and fried plantains to accompany. The upbeat salsa music only added to the experience!
