Jessie on a Journey
The image showcases a delightful tropical meal served in a rustic setting. The centerpiece is a large, freshly cracked open coconut filled with a vibrant green beverage, suggesting a refreshing coconut water or smoothie. Alongside the coconut are traditional Caribbean accompaniments: a small plate with white rice, fried plantains, and a green salad garnish, as well as a glass jar filled with a white creamy substance, possibly a yogurt-based dip or condiment. A steaming mug of fragrant liquid, potentially a traditional Puerto Rican coffee or tea, completes the meal. The wooden table and blue background evoke a charming beachside or coastal ambiance.

Tropical Lunch in Old San Juan

When your drink is from a coconut you KNOW it's going to be good. ___ During my solo Puerto Rico trip I found myself wandering Old San Juan, starving but worried about making the wrong choice for lunch. I mean, the cobbled streets feature everything from hipster beer bars (like Tupelo de Lupelo, yum!) to outdoor patios serving 2-for-1 sangrias to eateries cooking meals from around the globe. ___ For a local lunch, Deaverdura did not dissapoint. There's no paper menu, and the bar is lined with coconuts for drinking. Here I had the freshest grouper I've ever tasted, with rice, beans and fried plantains to accompany. The upbeat salsa music only added to the experience! ___ What's the best meal you've ever had while traveling? 🌮🌭🥐
