Swimming with Pigs in the Bahamas
Anyone else seek out quirky experiences when they travel? This photo was taken when I went to the Exumas, a district of the Bahamas made up of 365+ small (and beautiful!) islands. Head to Big Major Spot Cay and you'll be able to actually swim with these pigs. .

There's an interesting story behind the site, too. Locals brought the pigs to the island during the First Gulf War, just in case things got bad and they needed to repopulate their farm animals. The island is also home to sheep and chickens, although no people. The pigs have gotten used to humans coming to see them, so as soon as they hear your boat approaching they’ll run out of the bush and jump into the water, swimming up to your boat. Pretty amazing.
