Jessie on a Journey
A scenic view of a serene waterway surrounded by lush vegetation and distant mountains. A few small boats are moored on the sandy shore, with people attending to them, possibly preparing for a leisure excursion or fishing trip. One person is standing near a vibrant red flag or tarp, adding a pop of color to the natural setting. A piece of driftwood lies in the foreground, providing a textural contrast to the smooth sand. The distant mountains, likely volcanic in origin, loom majestically in the background, their peaks capped with clouds. The overall scene exudes a sense of tranquility and natural beauty, inviting the viewer to imagine themselves in this peaceful locale.

Serene Waterway in Nicaragua

Tag a friend you’d like to transport here with *right now*! ___ A few days ago I visited Leon, one of Nicaragua’s main cities. After visiting a family-owned blanket factory that’s also a women’s cooperative (called Telar Manual Textil La Fe), seeing the gorgeous view from the roof of the main cathedral, and having a delicious vegetarian lunch at @restaurantecocinarte, I took a boat trip through the nearby Juan Venado Nature Reserve. Full of important mangroves and dotted with tranquil islands, you’ll never be without a view! ___ A big thanks to @lamariposanicaragua, my Spanish school and eco-hotel for eight days, for bringing me here!
