Tips for Zoom Weddings During COVID-19

ZOOM WEDDING TIPS! 👈 Save/share, especially w/ friends planning virtual weddings. ⁠ 💍⁠ It's been one week since our Zoom wedding on Randall's Island, and I still can't believe we pulled off such a lovely little event.⁠ 😁⁠ Since I first posted about my Zoom wedding I've received many DMs asking for tips. So, I'm going to stray a bit from my usual travel content and share a few things Andy and I did that we'd recommend to others.⁠ 👇⁠ 1) ⁠Find a place that is special to you. The tree behind me in this photo is a spot we come to often. It is now OUR special little spot in NYC.⁠ 💕⁠ 2) Make a slideshow to play while people wait. If you're like us, you'll probably be running a bit behind. Instead of having people sit there awkwardly, put together a slideshow that plays pre-ceremony.⁠ 💕⁠ 3) Have an MC. We asked a friend to MC (basically to play the video + hand out a PDF program we made) so that we didn't need to worry that. This person can also help w/ tech hiccups if needed.⁠ 💕⁠ 4) Delegate jobs to attendees. If we would have DIY'd everything ourselves this would have been much more stressful. Plus, having a cake, favors, etc made my loved ones made them even more special. ⁠ 💕⁠ 5) Write your own vows (or do something special that's very "you"). While vows would always be a memorable part of the wedding, without all of the usual fanfare, these elements will likely really stand out in your mind. I was honestly super nervous about doing the vows, but it ended up being the highlight of the wedding for me.⁠ 💕⁠ Okay, I'm reaching the IG character limit, so I'll stop there.
