Jessie on a Journey
A plate filled with various traditional Niçoise cuisine dishes is presented. The plate features a variety of items, including a caramelized onion and anchovy tart called Pissaladière, meat and vegetable-stuffed vegetables known as Petits Farcis, and a classic ratatouille dish. Accompanying the plate are bread sticks or breadcrumbs and a small bowl containing a creamy dipping sauce. The dishes showcase the vibrant colors and flavors of the Niçoise cuisine, originating from the city of Nice in the South of France.

Savoring Authentic Niçoise Cuisine in Nice

While I've explored French food at home in NYC, I never knew Nice had their own special Niçoise cuisine, which I explored at A' Buteghinna in Nice's Old Town. This restaurant is one of less than 20 to hold a special "Cuisine Nissarde" certification, meaning you're having an authentic meal in Nice. Some of my favorites on this plate include the Pissaladière (a caramelized onion and anchovy tart), Petits Farcis (a meat and veg-stuffed vegetable) and Ratatouille. Yum! What's your favorite French dish?
