Jessie on a Journey
A cozy and rustic bedroom with exposed wooden beams on the ceiling, exuding a charming European ambiance. The room features a plush bed adorned with a green and white striped duvet, complemented by diamond-patterned throw pillows in shades of green. Nightstands flank the bed, each with a lamp, providing warm illumination. An ornamental antler decoration hangs on the wall, adding a touch of mountain lodge flair. A wooden armoire stands in the corner, lending a traditional touch. The room's decor seamlessly blends comfort with a rural, alpine aesthetic.

Rustic Luxury at the Sonnenalp Hotel, Vail

As soon as I walked into the Sonnenalp Hotel, located in the center of Vail Village and within walking distance to Vail Mountain, I felt awash with rustic luxury and a European feel — not surprising once I found out their family-run sister hotel is in Bavaria. The accommodation features 112 suites and 15 rooms, a European spa, five restaurants, a golf course and a tennis club. The hotel also has a delicious Swiss Chalet Restaurant that serves Alpine cuisine (get the fondue!), Ludwig’s Restaurant, which serves breakfast and has a waitstaff donning dirndls, and giant rooms full of Bavarian furniture. Highly recommended!
