Jessie on a Journey
A young woman in a pink t-shirt and denim shorts is leaning against a railing, overlooking a captivating cityscape with skyscrapers and industrial structures in the distance. The skyline features prominent buildings such as the iconic Freedom Tower, and several smoke stacks or chimneys, possibly from a power plant or industrial facility. The sky is a brilliant shade of blue with wispy white clouds, creating a picturesque contrast with the urban landscape. The woman appears relaxed and content, taking in the scenic view.

Overcoming Obstacles to Blogging Success

I've been sharing more lately about my idea of success, and I wanted to build on the discussion today. Recently, I was asked on a podcast: "What did you have to overcome to see success?" ___ 💪 The first obstacle was unfamiliar territory. I was an expert on my blog’s topic — solo female travel — but knew NOTHING about blogging itself when I started in 2011. ___ 💪 My second obstacle was a lack of support. I’d just graduated with my BA/MA in Communication, and my family and friends really wanted to see me getting a high-paying office job in Manhattan. But blogging? Most hadn’t even heard of it, let alone that you could make money doing it! I know everyone meant well, but I must say I'm really glad I shut out the voices and listened to my heart. ___ Corny, but true. 😉 ___ Luckily, I have always been a firm believer in manifestation (paired with hard work!). If you can picture something so crystal clear that there's no way it can't happen, then you set yourself up on the right path. ✈️ ___ * * *
