Memories of Untethered Solo Travel Before Instagram

⁠*TRAVEL BEFORE INSTAGRAM & TECH*⁠ 👇⁠ When you think about travel before Instagram + technology, what words come to mind?⁠ 🤔⁠ I took a trip down memory lane recently and found a photo album from my first solo trip through Europe for a summer -- without a smartphone, laptop, or Instagram account to hold me down.⁠ 🤗⁠ I was completely *untethered* and *without obligation" (which would be my words 😉), without any need to think about taking beautiful photos or sharing digital stories. My only self-assigned task was to simply follow my curiosity and see where it led me.⁠ 🌍⁠ Don't get me wrong; I'm very thankful for my life now and what I do. But looking at this old grainy Instaworthless (new word, lol) photo and remembering this day meeting another solo traveler in my Munich hostel and biking around the city together, I'm flooded with happy memories of travel and being 100% present.⁠ 🙏⁠ It kind of makes me miss the days before technology. ❤️ What about you? #BeyondTheGuidebook⁠
