Jessie on a Journey
A narrow suspension bridge stretches across a lush green valley surrounded by towering, mist-covered mountains in the Himalayas. The bridge is suspended high above the terrain, offering a breathtaking view of the rugged, forested slopes and rocky cliffs that rise up on both sides. A lone figure can be seen walking across the bridge, dwarfed by the stunning natural scenery. The image captures the grandeur and beauty of the Himalayan landscape, as well as the thrill and adventure of trekking through this remote and challenging region.

Hiking the Himalayas: A Challenging Trek in Nepal

What is the most challenging trek you’ve ever done? 🐾 Wow, hiking in the Himalayas is TOUGH! Who would have thought?! 😉 Real talk, though: I don’t think I’ve checked off a true bucket list experience in a while. Nepal has been high up there for me for a long time, specifically getting close to those high peaks the country is known for (because it’s home to 8 of the world’s 14 highest peaks above 8,000 meters!). 🗻 My journey consisted of completing the 5-day Mohare Danda trek, a stunning alternative to the more touristy Poon Hill trek. The trek took me up to 3,300 meters, with stunning views of mountain giants like Fish Tail, Annapurna 1, Annapurna South and Dhaulagiri. I was literally in the clouds! 😲🌥🎉 What’s wild is my group saw no other trekkers on the trail; only locals. We stayed in small villages, saw buffalo and yak, and got a first-hand look at Nepalese culture. 🐃 I also learned what I was truly capable of. I tested my limits, both physically and mentally, and became a stronger person. 💪 I’m getting close to the character limit on IG so I’ll stop there for now, but you can learn more about the experience on my blog (jessieonajourney.com/blog <— my most recent post!) and in the coming days on Instagram. 🎉 A big thanks to @nepaltourism, @impacttravelalliance and PATA for hosting my trip! ✈️ * * * #nepaltravel #visitnepal2020 #HTM2019 #nepal🇳🇵#travelnepal #travelnepal🇳🇵
