Jessie on a Journey
A vibrant and colorful mural adorns the exterior of a building in an urban setting. The mural features bold geometric patterns and abstract shapes in a striking palette of red, orange, yellow, and purple hues. A young woman stands in front of the mural, wearing a red plaid flannel shirt and jeans, with her hands casually tucked into the front pockets of her jeans. She has a relaxed and casual demeanor, gazing at the camera with a slight smile. The mural and the woman's outfit create a visually striking contrast against the gritty urban backdrop, which includes a parked vehicle and a bicycle leaning against the building. The scene exudes a sense of vibrant artistic expression and urban exploration.

Exploring Your Hometown as a Destination

Do you keep a bucket list for your hometown? 🤔 *** This weekend at @womenstravelfest I spoke about how to start a tour company in your own backyard, and also led a pre-conference experience in Brooklyn. *** It made me think about the idea of *traveling* in your own backyard. I had 13 women visiting from all over USA -- and even from other countries -- join me on my Bushwick #InstaWalk, as they wanted to explore the history, art, culture and food of this neighborhood. ✈️ *** It really makes you reflect on how where you live is a "destination" to others, and how incredible it can be to explore where you live with curious eyes. *** To be honest though, I *do* have a NYC bucket list, even though I live here. Next up on it for me: hiking in Pelham Bay Park, visiting the Spy Museum and eating at the underground Sake Bar Decibel. 🍣 *** * * *
