Jessie on a Journey
A panoramic view overlooking the ancient cityscape of Jerusalem's Old City, captured from atop the historic stone walls. The foreground features the intricate, sun-baked masonry of the fortified ramparts, their weathered golden hues contrasting against the vibrant azure sky dotted with wispy clouds. Beyond the walls, a densely packed expanse of beige and terracotta-roofed buildings stretches out, punctuated by the occasional tree or minaret piercing the skyline. In the distance, the undulating hills surrounding Jerusalem provide a picturesque backdrop. A red bus navigates the winding streets below, injecting a touch of modernity into the otherwise timeless scene.

Exploring Jerusalem's Old City

Exploring #Jerusalem's Old City was an enlightening experience for me. It's an extremely important place for Jews, Christians and Muslims, and you'll see some of the world's most important religious sites, from the place where Jesus was thought to be arrested to the spot where Prophet Mohammed made his ascent into heaven. It's also interesting to learn how different religious groups and cultures co-exist in #Israel, sometimes peacefully, sometimes not. My favorite experiences here were visiting the #WesternWall to say a prayer and meeting some of the local artisans in the shuk. Here I am peering out over the Old City walls in the village of Silwan, a predominantly Arab community that has recently been seeing Jewish people moving in, as well. What's your #favorite Jerusalem experience?
