Exploring Casco Viejo, Panama's Historic Neighborhood
Aside for the Panama Canal, one Panama City highlight Andy and I heard over and over again we needed to experience was the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Casco Viejo neighborhood.
___
Spoiler: It did not disappoint! The neighborhood dates back to 1673, and because it’s protected the many modern boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars that exist aside important heritage institutions and ruins can gut the insides, but must leave the lovely weathered facades in tact. This leads to an area of the city that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

A few Casco Viejo highlights: 🍹 Craft cocktails at @thestrangersclubpanama 🍣 Sushi at @casacasco's @nacionsushi ⛪ Exploring beautiful colonial architecture ☕ Trying Geisha Coffee at @cafeunido 🎨 Seeing colorful street murals

This all being said, definitely make time to explore some of the other walkable neighborhoods like Marbella, Obarrio and El Cangrejo.
