Choosing Family and Friends Over Full-Time Travel
This right here is why I choose not to travel full time: my wonderful friends (and my family and boyfriend). When I graduated college with a Master's Degree in 2010 I made a difficult decision to veer from the path I was "supposed to take" -- at least according to society -- and instead build an online business that revolved around my love of travel. It wasn't easy, and I worked my butt off to make it sustainable, but it was so rewarding when I was finally able to quit waitressing and live through my blogs.
Many of my travel blogger peers choose to live on the road full time. And for a long time I felt that's what I was "supposed to do," too. In the end, I realized I love where I'm from -- New York -- and all the people in my life here. I love to travel and explore the world, but I could never give up my home.
Have you ever veered from the path you were "supposed to take" to find something even better?
