Jessie on a Journey
The image depicts four young women lounging on a couch in what appears to be a living room setting. They seem to be enjoying each other's company, with some smiling and laughing jovially. One woman is reclining with her head thrown back in laughter. Their casual attire, including jeans and sweaters, suggests a relaxed atmosphere among close friends. The eclectic decor, such as the patterned rug and throw pillows, adds a cozy and bohemian vibe to the scene.

Choosing Family and Friends Over Full-Time Travel

This right here is why I choose not to travel full time: my wonderful friends (and my family and boyfriend). When I graduated college with a Master's Degree in 2010 I made a difficult decision to veer from the path I was "supposed to take" -- at least according to society -- and instead build an online business that revolved around my love of travel. It wasn't easy, and I worked my butt off to make it sustainable, but it was so rewarding when I was finally able to quit waitressing and live through my blogs. Many of my travel blogger peers choose to live on the road full time. And for a long time I felt that's what I was "supposed to do," too. In the end, I realized I love where I'm from -- New York -- and all the people in my life here. I love to travel and explore the world, but I could never give up my home. Have you ever veered from the path you were "supposed to take" to find something even better?
