Central Park's Urban Oasis
Sure, Central Park may be a tourist attraction, but it's also one of my absolute favorite places in NYC (not to mention a popular spot for wine picnicking on a sunny day for my friends and I). As a photographer the 843-acre park offers limitless opportunities for beautiful captures and activities, from bird watching to yoga classes to cycling and beyond. The park was established in 1857 to promote civil society and local wellness, and became a National Historic Landmark in 1962. Each year the site welcomes about 40 million visitors, but you can luckily still find quiet, secluded spaces that make you feel like you're away from any urban sprawl or crowds.
