Jessie on a Journey
A joyful newlywed couple is standing next to an old, rusty pickup truck in a lush green field. The bride, wearing a flowing white wedding gown, has her arms raised triumphantly in the air, while the groom, dressed in a sharp blue suit, mirrors her celebratory pose. The vintage truck, likely used as a prop for their wedding photos, adds a rustic and whimsical touch to the scene. The surrounding trees and verdant landscape provide a picturesque backdrop, creating a sense of natural beauty and simplicity.

Balancing Love and Travel in Relationships

The idea that solo travel or constant travel is only for single people is just plain WRONG. 🛑 If you would have asked me at 21 if I would ever get married, I really didn't think I would. 🤷 It's not that falling in love didn't sound appealing, but more that I thought I had to choose between a relationship and travel. At the time, there seemed to be no in between. 💔 Over the years, I've had many relationships fail because of my travels - but then I met Andy, and I learned that you can absolutely have your cake, err, trip - and take it, too! 🎂 Of course, there is work that goes into making this, well, work. Not only do we value our shared interests while keeping our own passions, and also take trips together when we can, but I make sure to honor the "me" while respecting the "us". 💍 For instance, while I don't take 4-month backpacking trips anymore, I do still travel almost every month (outside of the pandemic); sometimes weekend getaways and sometimes one-week jaunts, as this was a schedule we were both comfortable with. ✈️ Anyway, that is the short version. I'm curious, though - what tips do you have for balancing love and travel? ❤️ #BeyondTheGuidebook
