A Travel Blogger's Perspective on Freedom

Hoping this is one of the last photos for a while that I'm wearing a winter hat! ☃️ ___ We finally had some warm weather in NYC on Saturday, and Central Park's Sheep Meadow was FILLED with tank top-wearing locals sipping wine, hula hopping and dancing in the grass. It was a great reminder of why -- even though I have the option to travel full time -- I don't; choosing instead to have a base in one of the world's most expensive cities. ___ For many travel bloggers, the idea of "home" is much different than what it might mean to someone who doesn't travel for work. Actually, many of my travel blogging friends can't define the word at all. 🏠 ___ Truth: I didn't just get into travel blogging because I love travel. Actually, I wouldn't even say the travel is the best part of my job. ___ Actually, the best part is the time freedom; the ability to make my own schedule and spend as much as I'd like doing the things I love. Yes, this includes travel, but also spending an entire day curled up on the couch with my cat reading a book, playing hookey so my boyfriend and I can do a 20-mile bike ride upstate, or skipping work for a few days because friends are visiting. ___ THIS is what truly makes me love what I do. 💕 * * * * *
