Exploring Outside the 303
A woman wearing a burgundy sweater, black pants, and hiking boots is standing on a rocky trail in the midst of towering red sandstone formations. The trail leads between the massive rock walls, which display intricate erosion patterns and striations. A small sign on a rock in the foreground reads 'End of Trail'. The vast, expansive landscape surrounding her appears to be a desert environment with scattered shrubbery and a bright, clear sky overhead. The woman's posture and attire suggest she is out for a hike, exploring the breathtaking natural scenery of this arid, rocky canyon.

The Not-So-Simple Life of RVing

The trouble with simple living, though it can be fullfilling and joyful, it isn't simple! We had a humbling experience when we boondocked in our 5th wheel for the first time. We were over confident in our abilities (more accurately in our new rig) and ended up causing ourselves worry and frustration. Short story is our batteries died and we were worried the heat wouldn't work throughoutthe night. We didn't know how to work the solar setup that came with the rig and we didn't think ahead of time to read up or test it. We assumed it would have worked the same way we were use to with our old rig. Luckily, we had extra gel battery and it had enough charge to get us through the night without issue. Then came a second problem, that gel battery died when I tried to bring in the slides in the morning 🤦‍♀️ Slowly we inched the slides in as the truck charged the battery. We were both very frustrated at these simple things we took for granite and over 2 hours later we finally hit the road. A good lesson learned for us. We chuckled about the whole ordeal on our 7 hour drive. This week, we are going to test the solar setup when we have full hookups so we are prepared for next time. ❓What hard lesson have you learned about living simply❓
