Exploring Outside the 303
A massive, ancient oak tree with a tremendously thick, gnarled, and twisting trunk stands as the central focus of this natural scene. The tree's massive, sprawling branches extend outward in a wide canopy, providing ample shade and creating an awe-inspiring presence. The bark of the trunk and branches appears rough and weathered, a testament to the tree's immense age, estimated to be over 400 years old. The ground around the tree is covered in a layer of fallen leaves and dirt, with a small wooden fence encircling the base of the trunk, likely to protect the tree's roots from foot traffic. The scene is set in a lush, green forest or woodland area, with the tree's branches intertwining with the surrounding vegetation, creating a harmonious blend of nature's elements.

The Ancient Angel Oak Tree

Not every classroom has four walls. That has come to light even more as we travel and explore the local areas. The Angel Oak is over 400 years old and is a stunning specimen of nature. Tucked away on a dirt road by a church, only 15 minutes from our campsite. . . Charleston has so much to offer and this was a great find. Plus it was free to see this gorgeous oak! Jeremiah took most of these photos and was intentional about the angles and catching the sunlight just right. @ Angel Oak
