Nomadic Life on the Road
I snapped this photo while pulled over on the road after we spotted to check out something that caught our attention. This is our setup, Tina and Lina (as we call them) is our homestead. During travel days we like to drive no longer then 3.5 hours which shows us time to stop along the way if something grabs our attention without extending the day too long. 〰️ We traveled from Carlsbad, NM to Las Cruses, NM and dipped into Texas for some of the drive. We came across what looked like snow in Texas, being CO nativies we know that it wasn't possible to have snow in Texas when it is 75F out. Turns out, it was sand from a near by salt sand dune. Jeremiah was fascinated by it and said it felt like kinetic sand. I snapped this photo after looking back toward the road. In our previous road trips we would have just blown past this because we have an 8 hour drive ahead of us. 〰️ After this stop, Steve and I debated heavily if we should go see the US/Mexico border wall in El Paso. Politics aside, I was curious what it really looks like and if it is safe to bring kids to. Steve was uneasy about trying to navigate our rig in an area we hadn't done research on. In the end, we skipped it this time but plan to stop in December when we head back that way. 〰️ This lifestyle has allowed us the freedom to stop along the way, experience new things, and has opened our eyes to what our country has to offer.
