Homeschooling Hands-On: Ranch Day with Cows

Learning comes in many different forms We are now in our 2nd year of homeschooling and feel we are fully embracing what it means to homeschool for our family. This includes weekly hands-on activities like exploring national parks, science experiments, visiting local historical sites, and even caring for show cows. 🐮 We met a family at our home park this past summer and they happen to own a cattle ranch in Texas. We made plans to spend time on their ranch to learn all about cows and what it takes to care for them. The kids helped care for a cow for the whole day. They feed, bathed, brushed, blow-dried (yes blow-dried the show cows), and did a practice run for a show. It was a day full of learning, questions, wandering around the barns, playing with chickens, and the avoiding cow pies. The kids still talk about Blossom and Shadow. Talk about a homeschooling win! Doing these types of activities is exactly what I though homeschooling would be like. ❓ What type of hands-on activities do you have your kids do❓ 🐮 follow along for more homeschooling tips @exploringoutsidethe303
