Embracing Life's Joy with Silliness

There's power in looking silly and not caring that you do. ~ Amy Poehler There is a danger when we take ourselves too serious. The danger is in how we see the world, our children and spouse, and ourselves. It effects our well being, mental state, and thoughts. We have all heard it before, don't take life to seriously, you wont get out alive. ✋ Hands up for all of you that cringed after reading that last sentence. I sure did. Being a Type A personality, I learned very early on to act serious to look grown up. I had my life planned out in vivid detail, and while most of it happened the way I planned (at least for my early adult years), I am learning every day the freedom that comes with releasing the seriousness. God has a plan for our lives and has an interesting way of teaching us, that His plan is better then our own. Thank goodness for my kids! Kids make you humble and teach you to get over yourself, your pride, and what you though parenting was going to be like. Now that they are getting older, it is fun to embarrass them and help them to not take themselves too seriously. So be silly every now and then, remove the pressure of being serious all the time, and enjoy the small and big moments that make life worth living for. ⁉️Do you struggle with being too serious? What tips have helped you break the cycle⁉️ Follow along at 👉 @exploringoutsidethe303
