Exploring Outside the 303
The image depicts a man sitting on the ground next to a travel trailer. The man is wearing a black t-shirt and khaki shorts, with his legs stretched out in front of him. He appears to be changing a tire on the trailer, as the tire and wheel are visible on the ground next to him. The trailer itself is a large, white and blue model with several windows and a distinctive striped pattern on the sides. In the background, there is another trailer or RV parked nearby, suggesting this may be at an RV park or campground. The overall scene conveys the realities and challenges of life on the road in an RV, where flat tires and maintenance issues can arise unexpectedly.

Dealing with a Flat Tire on an RV Road Trip

Its not always rainbows and sunshine living the RV life 🚐 ⠀ This counted as our 3rd flat tire. This time it was a different experience because it wasn't a surprise, we pulled over to a safe place to change it, and a few folks pulled over to asked if we needed help. ⠀ We had an issue with this specific tire before we hit the road so we were monitoring it with our TireMinder tire pressure monitoring system during the drive. ⠀ It ended up having a pinhole leak near the tread on the top. Steve changed it within 30 minutes. We plan to get it fixed once we get a bigger city next week. ⠀ When the TireMinder went off due to low pressure, we were able to pull off the highway safely to an on ramp away from the heavy traffic. Thank goodness! Changing a tire on a busy highway is super stressful. ⠀ Below are tips on how to deal with a flat tire on a travel trailer: 1️⃣ Invest in a tire pressure monitoring system to warn you instantly if there are issues. We like TireMinder, click the link in bio to our Amazon page for the specific unit we use 2️⃣ Use an Andersen Block to lift one axel to reduce the weight on the other axel. This saves you time when jacking up the axel with the flat tire. 3️⃣ Have patience and be calm before you change the tire. The first time ee changed a tire, it took almost 2 hours for us because we were a hot mess of emotions and frustation. ⠀ ❓Have you dealt with changing an RV tire?
