Capitol Reef National Park Highlights and Review

Capitol Reef NP Review (save this for later) Capitol Reef is the most northern park of the Mighty 5. Known as an International Dark Sky Park, watching the sunset and star gazing is incredible at the park. The landscape includes stunning canyons, domes, steep cliffs, and natural bridges. Driving through the Gorge is a perspective shift with its steep sides and beautiful views. We hiked Hickman Bridge Trail, Grand Wash, Capitol Gorge Trail, and Cassidy Arch Trail. Panorama Point and Sunset Point were the best location to take in the sunset and star gaze. There are some trails that are stroller/wheelchair friendly. An added bonus is this NP has a famous bakery onsite the makes the pies using the fruit from the orchards in the park during the summer. Get there early because they sell out every day. We stayed 10 minutes outside the park at an RV Resort that sat next to the National Forest. There is ample boondocking available right outside the park entrance as well. Our ratings: Access: 7/10 Crowds: 8/10 Kids Friendly: 8/10 Camping Near By: 7/10 Overall: 7/10 This park has incredible scenery and hikes for all abilities. Driving to and through the Gorge was a favorite of ours. There are less crowds here due to the fact that it is not close to really anything. We plan to go back and boondock close to the park and star gaze. ❓Have you been to Capitol NP? What was your overall rating of the park❓ @exploringoutsidethe303 @exploringoutsidethe303 @exploringoutsidethe303
